Secret Lives of a Christian by Fredrick L. Nunn Jr.

Many Christian or just people in general have secret lives or secret issues that they are dealing with. Some of us are too embarrassed to admit it and then some of us just simply don’t care. No matter what category you fall in God can still deliver you from your secret life. Rather it is a life of addiction or a life of laziness we all have issues we deal with.

The difference between being stuck and delivered is simply determination. You can either decide to stay where you are and continue to live secret lives or you can make up in your mind that you are not going to continue to be in this place. To many times we say I am going to get it right tomorrow and when tomorrow gets here we say Lord I’m sorry I will get it tomorrow. We have become very passive-aggressive Christians. According to Wikipedia passive-aggressive behavior can manifest itself as: learned helplessness, procrastination, stubbornness, resentment, sullenness, or deliberate/repeated failure to accomplish requested tasks for which one is (often explicitly) responsible. Not taking care of sin or just bad habits leads to a life of learned helplessness.

We will become and continue to be repeated failures until we face our secret life head on make the necessary changes. It is “time out” for being satisfied with secret lives, being to embarrassed to admit that we have one. Remember as Christians, true children of God, our message has to be clear. We can not give a message with our life and then a different message with our mouth. Yes, God has given us grace and mercy but that doesn’t mean that I am supposed to remain stuck. It’s time to come out of our secret lives. God is on His way back. Romans 13:11 in the Amplified Bible says “Besides this you know what a critical hour this is, how it is high time now for you to wake up out of your sleep (rouse to reality). For salvation (final deliverance) is nearer to us now than when we first believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Christ, the Messiah).”

Lets take care of today’s issues and not let it become tomorrows problems. Be determined to be all that God wants you to be. Get rid of whatever is causing you to become weary. Gain a life of learned faithfulness from God and let go of the life of learned helplessness. God Bless.
