Have you put Jesus in His place? by Mia McCarty

Once you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life, you’re a changed person! You’re a new creation in Him, and your old life is gone forever through the Blood of Jesus. But, just as we accept Jesus as our Lord we need to work hard at putting Him in His place in our lives, and that is as Lord.

As Christians we desire to be Christ-like, imitating and following Jesus the best we can while we’re here on Earth. But how can we accomplish His work if He’s not truly leading the way? The Word says we are to “continue to follow Him, and let our lives be built on Him..”

Colossians 2:5-10 – “And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. 8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers[a] of this world, rather than from Christ. 9 For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.[b] 10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

I love the latter part of these verse.. “Head over every ruler and authority“. Jesus is not only the head over every ruler and authority in Heaven and on Earth, Jesus should also be the Head over every decision and opportunity in our lives.

In this day in age, we don’t necessarily have a reference point do we? We have presidents, chiefs, officers, and other leaders but no Lords or Kings. So, what exactly does a Lord do? What does it mean to be a King? Let’s look at what http://www.dictionary.com has to say…

King; Ruler (Supreme Ruler), Master, the Person who wins! Prince, Majesty, Sovereign, Executive – Key Player, Royalty – Crowned Head! Chief and Leader, Caesar, Monarch, Lord

What do you need today? Healing? Answers to your questions? Do you need Him to point you in the right directions? In order to find the answers we’re looking for we need to allow Him to be the Chief and Leader of our lives. We need to give Jesus the Crown as Head of our lives.

Allowing Jesus to be the Executive – “Key Player” in our lives isn’t always easy, but the word says in Revelation that “those who are with Him are called, chosen and faithful”.

Revelation 17:14“…for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

Jesus is full of answers, direction and power and He doesn’t want to keep it for Himself. Today, give Jesus the Crown has Head over something new in your life and see what He can do with it!
